    Description

    Location: **BCI Durango** Four Corners Expos, an entity of Ballantine Communications, is looking for an **Expo Event Sales Coordinator** in Durango, CO. The position will lead and create community/company events. This person must foster strong working relationships with key internal and external partners to develop, coordinate and execute event opportunities as well as manage existing shows such as: The Home and Ranch Show, What a Girl Wants, 2 Hearts Wedding Expo, job fairs, and more.

    **Essential Responsibilities:**

    Coordinate local events and company partnerships including a series of annual EXPOS;

    Development budgets for events, manage expenses, and submit information to the Accounting Department;

    Research and assist in selling and securing major sponsorship and booths;

    Secure and manage contracts and insurance requirements for events/vendors;

    Negotiate and secure contracts for facilities;

    Coordinate volunteer activity and work flow during events;

    Assist in developing media plans and in-kind sponsorship for events;

    Assist the Director of Marketing & Sales to development of new event opportunities;

    Develop and execute the revenue drivers for each event;

    Develop sales and promotional materials;

    Must attend and participate in partnership events expos and or projects;

    Involvement in short and long term planning;

    Consult with customers to determine objectives and requirements for events, such as meetings, conferences, and conventions.

    Coordinate services for events, such as accommodation and transportation for participants, facilities, catering, signage, displays, special needs requirements, printing and event security.

    Arrange the availability of audio-visual equipment, transportation, displays, and other event needs.

    **Qualifications:**

    Must have a Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business Administration or similar degree and 2 to 3 years and a proven track record in event marketing.

    Ability to coordinate work flow of multiple facets of event marketing.

    Ability to negotiate contracts with third party such as facilities, vendors, and entertainers.

    Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple projects at once while adhering to deadline.

    Must have a high degree of mental acuity and social skills.

    Must be detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritize, and able to react positively to change. A

    Active participation in local B2B groups is helpful.
