    Sign On Bonus

    The Adult IP Admission Unit is seeking a Night Shift Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, independent of patient location. This position requires working two shifts per schedule and one summer and one winter holiday. The ideal candidate will be a knowledgeable and proactive team player who can deliver safe, direct care to patients of all age groups, ensure adherence to policies and procedures, enhance professional growth and development, and promote a positive and therapeutic work environment. If you have at least 1 year of directly related experience, are a nationally accredited nursing graduate, possess an RN license in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM, and are CPR/BLS certified for Healthcare and/or Prof Rescuers, we encourage you to apply today. Additional preferred credentials include being nationally certified in the area of specialty, and holding PALS, TNCC, and/or ENPC certification. Note that this position involves heavy work, and may require handling chemicals and biohazardous materials with PPE.

    • Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients
    • Work within Hospitals, Nursing division and departmental policies
    • Implement and document individualized care plans incorporating age specific considerations
    • Assist with special tests and procedures, ensure proper consent has been obtained
    • Participate in orientation and precepting and evaluation responsibilities of new personnel
    • Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden, adverse developments in patients
    • Ensure that patient medical records contain necessary information
    • Answer telephones and triage calls as per departmental policy
    • Administer medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights; document and communicate clinical findings
    • Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with Hospitals standards
    • Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops
    • Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols
    • Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety
    • Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk
    • Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and/or near misses in a timely manner
    • Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care
    • Adhere to and promote the core expectations of the Patient Centered Medical Home/Patient Centered Specialty Practice
