Aging and Long-Term Support Administration
is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Consultant to join our dynamic team.
This opportunity is located in the Office of the Assistant Secretary based in Lacey and is considered a telework role.
The successful applicant may reside outside of the Lacey/Olympia area.
As a QA Consultant, you are responsible for reviewing staff processes to ensure ALTSA meets regulatory mandates for state and federal guidelines as well as division policies and procedures for long-term care settings.
Our team works closely together to be sure all of our work is done and is high-quality.
The ideal applicant will have an eye for detail, experience with quality assurance practices, experience with long-term care, and excellent interpersonal communication skills coupled with a passion for protecting the safety and well-being of vulnerable adults.

Some of what you'll do
Act as Subject Matter Expert for QA processes and process reviews
Complete all aspects of the QA process review cycle in collaboration with the unit
Provide technical assistance and ongoing consultation related to statewide QA activities
Maintain process review systems that result in improved compliance with program rules and statewide consistency of policy, practice, and procedures
Complete QA reports that will monitor the consistency of system practices and present reports to division staff in a timely manner
Identify system strengths, weaknesses, and gaps
Review finding discrepancies and work with identified policy, training, or field staff to determine whether the finding is appropriate for the change request process
Provide ongoing consultation, advice, and technical assistance to ALTSA staff related to the QA monitoring tool
What we are looking for
Ability to work in a telework environment with strong technology knowledge and skill levels
Ability to execute projects to achieve end results with overlapping timelines
Ability to manage competing priorities
Working knowledge of quality assurance practices
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
Ability to interpret policies, statutes, and regulatory requirements
Strong organization and time management skills
Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to staff at all levels
Experience working with vulnerable adult populations in a service delivery setting
While experience with RCS is not required, experience licensing or surveying long-term care settings is desired
Work effectively, efficiently, collaboratively, and professionally in a team environment
Who should apply
One year of experience as a
Social and Health Program Consultant 3
or equivalent, OR
Two years of experience as a
Social and Health Program Consultant 2
or equivalent, OR
A Bachelor's degree in social work, a health or social science, public administration or a related field; AND five years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment service programs, OR
A Master's degree in the same disciplines as above; AND four years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment service programs
