    Lakeshore Talent is partnered with a well known and reputable healthcare organization in search for a Payroll Coordinator. This Payroll Coordinator will be supporting a well-known hospital in Downtown Chicago, IL This is a fully onsite position, based out of either downtown Chicago, IL or Warrenville, IL

    Pay: $20-22/hr, depending on experience

    Contract Length: 3 months, with potential for extension and/or permanent hire at the end of the contract

    Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm

    **Because this position is in a healthcare setting, employees must have up to date immunizations (Varicella, MMR, Tdap, Flu, Covid-19).

    Job Overview:

    The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing support to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Process biweekly, monthly, and special payroll runs accurately and on time
    • Calculate wages, deductions, and adjustments based on employee records and company policies
    • Review and reconcile payroll data, including timesheets, taxes, and benefits deductions
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax requirements
    • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and managers
    • Assist with payroll audits and prepare reports as needed
    • Stay informed about changes in payroll regulations and best practices

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, preferred
    • 2+ years of experience in payroll coordination or a related role
    • Knowledge of payroll regulations, including FLSA, IRS regulations, and state/local tax laws
    • Experience with Kronos or UKG, and People soft, required
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines
    • Advanced skills in Excel (a short assessment will be required for consideration)
