    Description
    Foster Care Licensing Specialist


    Do you want a meaningful career advocating for Hope, Homes & Healing for children in foster care? 4KIDS is looking for a Licensing Specialist who performs all initial licensing of prospective foster families.

    The position will provide support and follow through the licensing process of prospective foster families.


    Job Specifications:
    Assist, support and communicate with foster families throughout the foster parent training and licensing process
    Assist and train foster parents in appropriate documentation according to Florida Statutes
    Maintain constant and consistent contact with prospective foster families
    Participate in foster parent recruitment efforts when needed
    Compile and follow through the completion of the licensing documentation packages required by law and submit packages to the Licensing Supervisor and then to the DCF/Community Based Care Agency's Licensing Unit
    Schedule and conduct health inspections for prospective foster families
    Complete home studies and submit appropriate documentation
    Continue ongoing support for families through the licensing process facilitating a positive working relationship between the family and the agency
    Research changes in legislation and/or other requirements concerning training and licensing of foster families
    Assist in orientation and training of foster parents as needed
    Assist with and participate in foster parent support activities such as monthly support groups and quarterly foster family special events


    Job Requirements:
    Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in social work or related area of study
    Completion of Child Welfare certification
    Minimum of one year experience working with children in crisis; DCF experience preferred in Foster Care and/or Protective Supervision
    Must demonstrate proficiency in verbal and written skills.
    Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs
    Problem Solving Skills
    Interpersonal Skills
    Customer service skills
    Must have reliable transportation that can be used for work purposes
    Must have and maintain a valid Florida driver's license
