    Description

    Job Summary:

    The Accounting Coordinator will perform routine clerical, filing, and data entry tasks for accounting data including accounts payable, billing, and receivables. This individual will work with and help to support an accounting team while having direct contact with key team members within multiple disciplines throughout the firm.

    Responsibilities:

    • Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
    • Conducts routine data entry management for accounting records including accounts payable, billing, and accounts receivable.
    • Reviews billing statements, invoices, contracts, and similar documents for accuracy; alerts supervisory staff of any discrepancies.
    • Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
    • Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
    • Distributes accounting reports as directed.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
    • Process payroll within a payroll program on a semi-monthly basis.
    • Able to track and present data and information presented between themselves and key team member.
    • Reviewing time sheets and expense reports to ensure accuracy.

    Required Skills:

    • Ability to accurately and efficiently enter data into computer software and systems.
    • Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
    • Highly proficient with accounting software. Knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint is beneficial.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Efficient in Excel is beneficial.
    • Knowledge in payroll programs such as ADP is beneficial.
    • Task oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • None.

    Education and Experience:

    • Associate or Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
    • Knowledge in Accounting basics is desired.
    • 1-3 years experience in accounting in lieu of degree.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
