- Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
- Conducts routine data entry management for accounting records including accounts payable, billing, and accounts receivable.
- Reviews billing statements, invoices, contracts, and similar documents for accuracy; alerts supervisory staff of any discrepancies.
- Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
- Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
- Distributes accounting reports as directed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Process payroll within a payroll program on a semi-monthly basis.
- Able to track and present data and information presented between themselves and key team member.
- Reviewing time sheets and expense reports to ensure accuracy.
- Ability to accurately and efficiently enter data into computer software and systems.
- Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Highly proficient with accounting software. Knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint is beneficial.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Efficient in Excel is beneficial.
- Knowledge in payroll programs such as ADP is beneficial.
- Task oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.
- None.
- Associate or Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Knowledge in Accounting basics is desired.
- 1-3 years experience in accounting in lieu of degree.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
