    Description

    The Production, General Manager (GM) ensures the production groups, welding and stamping are all working together to meet customer demands of a Tier 1 automotive parts manufacturer.

    • Oversee both the welding and stamping groups for both buildings, in a just-in-time environment
    • Oversee four manager direct reports between two buildings, indirect 400+
    • Develop long-term goals and strategies to meet business objectives for Hoshin
    • Knowledge of time needed to produce each part
    • Oversee activities of production, supervision, and activities of employees
    • Establish plans and targets for Parts Per Hour (PPH)
    • Ability to understand each of his/her managers needs
    • Develop a rapport with hiring managers and work as a team
    • Gather and analyze information from work sites to identify root causes in resolving business issues
    • Employ 8-Step Problem Solving to resolve problems for continual improvement
    • Direct and assign work schedules, assignments, tasks, and duties
    • Train and develop employees to perform job duties according to company procedures and policies for safety and accuracy
    • Monitor results and processes to proactively maximize production and eliminate waste
    • Prepare departmental reports and present them to executive management
    • Complete necessary documentation, such as status changes, time-off requests, and performance evaluations
    • Work with Human Resources Manager to identify and interview potential employees for job positions
    • Collaborate with other Managers, Supervisors, Team Leaders, and team members in sharing information to address business needs
    • Develop and implement standard work instructions
    • Create forecast for labor and cost
    • Other duties as assigned
    Requirements
    • Proven track record in consistently meeting or exceeding KPI's in a GM position
    • Strong operational experience, with the ability to establish and measure KPI's
    • 5+ years of progressive management experience in a manufacturing environment, with 2+ years being in a GM role
    • Experience overseeing a large production environment of 400+ is desired
    • Automotive experience preferred
    • Tier 1 or Tier 2 experience preferred
    • Bachelor's Degree preferred
