- Lead the mission control room team during experimental flight tests of the Roc carrier aircraft and/or Talon hypersonic vehicle testbeds.
- Ensure safe and effective execution of ground and flight test missions, along with providing engineering support from the control room.
- Develop deep engineering and system knowledge for quick decision-making and task prioritization.
- Conduct test or flight readiness reviews before executing test plans.
- Coordinate range, airspace, and support resources for flight test missions.
- Document procedures for expanded mission control room operations, supporting air-launch test missions with multiple aircraft and separate control elements. Develop comprehensive procedures covering all aspects of test mission execution for the integrated launch system.
- Support test strategy development, define test requirements, identify system safety concerns, and assist in risk mitigation.
- Collaborate closely with vehicle engineering teams to define test and data requirements, and address system safety and operational issues.
- Manage and communicate vehicle limitations and flight readiness review actions.
- Ensure alignment of on-vehicle test requirements with manufacturing and program schedules.
- Assess readiness of discipline engineers and support functions.
- Travel as required to support mission planning and launch approval meetings.
- Demonstrate integrity, accountability, and initiative in fulfilling commitments.
- Technical aerospace experience with training in a technical discipline.
- Ability to analyze and prioritize tasks independently, drive projects to completion, and align with overall business objectives.
- Experience with aircraft, launch vehicles, or spacecraft, safety review boards, and configuration control methods.
- Proficiency in engineering and data analysis tools like IADS and MATLAB.
- Knowledge of risk or safety management systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, travel occasionally, and obtain a security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, or equivalent technical foundation, and a minimum of 20 years relevant experience.
- Salary range: $161,000 - $233,000
