Senior Accountant

to join their team and report to the VP. This role will be in line for a VP promotion in the next - 2 years.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$100k - $120k

Position Overview:

As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the firm's clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting processes.

This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to handle complex financial matters.

The role is hybrid, with 3 onsite and 2 remote days, with operating hours of 9 AM - 5 PM.

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:

The Senior Accountant will manage all aspects of financial accounting, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.

Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets to provide insights and recommendations to the family office stakeholders.

The Senior Accountant will implement and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.

Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely preparation of tax returns for the family office and associated entities.

The Senior Accountant will stay updated on tax laws and regulations to provide guidance and recommendations on tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities.

Monitor and reconcile investment portfolios, including stocks, bonds, real estate, and other assets the family office holds.
The Senior Accountant will collaborate with investment managers and financial advisors to accurately record investment transactions and valuations.
Prepare detailed financial reports and analyses for family members and stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and financial trends.
Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for variances to budget and forecast.

Mentor the accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure their professional development and the smooth functioning of the finance team.

Collaborate with other departments within the family office, including legal, compliance, and administrative teams, to support overall operational objectives.

Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:
Public accounting experience is preferred.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong knowledge of GAAP principles, tax regulations, and investment accounting.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and interact with family members, advisors, and external stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
CPA designation preferred.
