    Description

    A services organization in New Jersey is looking to fill an immediate need with the addition of a new Senior Accountant to their staff.

    This highly visible position will perform various accounting activities, ensure compliance with accounting principles (GAAP), perform detailed and insightful financial analysis and provide timely and insightful financial reporting to management.

    ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Prepare journal entries, analysis and account reconciliations.
    • Help maintain, improve and participate in the month-end close process by completing analysis and preparing journal entries such as accruals and deferrals.
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP.
    • Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
    • Perform in-depth variance analysis for revenue and operating expenses.
    • Prepare operational and ad hoc reporting for additional analysis for additional analysis associated with financial statement areas assigned.
    • Assist in preparing and consolidating financial reporting and analysis for P&L and balance sheet.
    • Intercompany reconciliation.
    • Assists with year-end budgeting and planning.
    • Assists with related special projects as required.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    • Bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting or Finance, combined with 5-7 years accounting experience.
    • CPA certification preferred.
    • Strong accounting skills and working knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
    • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel with experience using V Lookups Formulas, and Pivot Tables.
    • Proficient in Accounting and Financial systems such as Sage/Oracle/SAP/QuickBooks.
    • Intermediate to Advanced experience with MS Word and Outlook.
    • Experience in mid-size to start-up companies preferred.

    • Must maintain a flexible work schedule as may be necessary to render the expected services to the Company, and which may include occasional weekend or evening events.
