    A Global Regulatory Policy Manager
    • Liquidity provides technical regulatory support and guidance to infrastructure functions and businesses across a full range of financial products and regulatory issues, providing challenge and governance to mitigate regulatory risk.
    Global Regulatory Policy Manager
    • Liquidity continuously monitors new rule developments and other ongoing changes to the prudential regulatory landscape.
    Global Regulatory Policy Manager
    • Liquidity covers a number of key aspects of prudential interpretation, including risk weighted assets (RWAs), capital resources, and the leverage ratio, across a full range of risk areas e.

    • Liquidity is organized as a global team, working flexibly, with a physical presence in the UK, US, Hong Kong, France, India, and Mexico.
    This is an exciting new opportunity to join the Global Regulatory Policy Manager
    • Liquidity presence in the US with a key focus on Liquidity policy.
    Specifically, the role will be critical to the analysis and interpretation of Liquidity prudential requirements, including the Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR) and Net Stable Funding Ratio (NSFR) as administered by the US prudential regulators, e.g. the Fed, OCC, and FDIC.

    The role will be based in New York City, however candidates based outside of New York City may be considered.

    The Global Regulatory Policy Manager
    • Liquidity function currently ensures timely review and notification of new developments in prudential policy regulation which impact the prudential calculations, as well as any related regulatory reporting impacts, and provides policy support as part of advocacy and implementation efforts.
    The successful candidate will help expand Global Regulatory Policy Manager
    • Liquidity support to cover interpretations of the US Liquidity requirements and be part of Global Regulatory Policy Manager
    • Liquidity global subject matter expert team that will be responsible for advising on prudential Liquidity regulations and providing expert technical regulatory support.
    As our Global Regulatory Policy Manager
    • Liquidity you will: Track new policy developments and formulate HSBC's regulatory policies accordingly, providing detailed practical guidance, distributed to a wide range of stakeholders; Produce and review regulatory opinions and interpretations on complex transactions and new products to ensure compliance with Group and local regulatory policies, ensuring all key interpretations are subject to appropriate governance; Provide technical support and guidance to both infrastructure functions and businesses; Provide technical support on the implementation of new regulatory requirements; Facilitate the HSBC Group's response to future regulatory developments, including the implementation of the final Basel III reforms, and influence the external development of regulatory policy by leading on advocacy efforts in response to new standards, proposed rules, and discussion papers.
    For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $148,300.00 and $240, The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

    Requirements You'll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

    Strong technical knowledge of US Liquidity prudential regulations is essential Technical knowledge of Liquidity prudential regulations as administered by other key bodies and jurisdictions, e.g.

    The Basel Committee ('BCBS'), UK/PRA, EU, Canada, and Mexico, is desirable but not required Technical knowledge of other areas of prudential regulatory capital, e.g.

    RWAs, leverage ratio, and capital resources under the US, UK/PRA, and/or BCBS rule frameworks is highly desirable Proven ability to act as an advisor and challenger to internal stakeholders on all aspects of prudential regulatory policy, with a specific focus on Liquidity Policy Strong control mind-set with the ability to support other control functions who are responsible for ensuring regulatory requirements are followed and reported accurately Professional approach and presentation, ability to manage a wide range of stakeholders including senior management Ability to prioritize competing deliverables Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to formulate and articulate defensible interpretations of ambiguous prudential regulatory rule text.
