    Job Description

    Project Accountant, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the financial aspects of construction projects. Your responsibilities will include creating budgets, analyzing costs, and ensuring accurate financial tracking. Here are the key details:

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with project managers to develop detailed, cost-effective budgets for construction projects.
    • Perform accounting duties throughout the project lifecycle, including preparing invoices, estimating cash flow, coordinating conditional and unconditional lien waivers from vendors, and signing off on purchase orders.
    • Analyze all financial transactions and incorporate unforeseen costs into the budget.
    • Maintain records of project finances for internal and external auditing as well as tax purposes.
    • Prepare cost analyses by interpreting financial data related to the projects.
    • Report any financial risks and budgetary discrepancies to management for review.
    • Research market trends and project construction-related price increases or decreases.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
    • Stay informed about developments in both the construction and accounting industries.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
    • Preferred certification in construction accounting.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in private or public accounting.
    • Excellent knowledge of construction cost accounting and related financial procedures.
    • Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage and Procore.
    • Working knowledge of the construction industry.
    • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
    • Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
