- Process customer billing accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to deadlines and company policies.
- Manage, analyze, and prepare correction forms for billing corrections in the access database, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Review and discuss essential freight documentation supporting charges invoiced and required for payment, ensuring compliance with billing standards.
- Utilize knowledge and gain an understanding of how billing functions affect the company's profit and loss statement, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Audit carrier freight bills, interpret tariffs and contracts, and ensure accuracy in billing processes.
- Work with internal technologies required for daily billing functions, including billing software and database systems.
- Investigate and diagnose potential errors and duplicate carrier billing, implementing corrective measures to resolve discrepancies.
- Perform ad-hoc reporting as required, providing insights and analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Perform other job-related duties as required by management, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the billing department.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred
- 2+ year experience as Management experience preferred
- 8+ years of experience in accounting/finance/business or any other business experience or related experience in the logistics and transportation industry required.
- Proven experience in financial analysis, reporting, and budget management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., SAP CO Module) and advanced Excel skills (v-lookups and pivot tables).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
