**Description:**
**Responsibilities:**
The Systems Engineer supports the strategic initiatives for IT to be a technology-driven organization.
Required to be a team player.
Evaluate hardware and software products in regards to productive applications and cost effectiveness.
Monitor key server and storage performance metrics to ensure production applications are running efficiently and meeting service levels.
Support the installation, customization, and maintenance of Windows/Linux based server environment, Storage Area Networks, VMware vSphere server farm, VMware vSphere VDI farm, Email, Storage Archiving Devices, CITRIX, malware protection systems.
Assist on the project budget preparations.
Recommend, specify & implement technology solutions along with participation as a team member in project implementations.
Compilation and analysis of statistical data into reports for capacity planning and/or problem avoidance.
Provide SME (subject matter expertise) to consult/troubleshoot client/server related matters for enterprise information system.
Will lead and work with clients and vendor partners in the pursuit of solution architecting and configuration by leveraging industry best practices and frameworks.
The systems engineer will also provide support and mentoring for IS team members.
Rotational on call, 24X7 duties will be required.
**Qualifications:**
**Required Experience:**
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field.
Industry certifications with MCSE, VCP/VCAP/VCDX, CCNA.
Drivers License from Florida.
Advanced installation, administration and maintenance knowledge of Windows Server operating system, including VMware ESXi, and/or Linux, networking and LAN/WAN concepts, programming and scripting, software packaging, database systems, web technologies, communication protocols, security standards and technical project management.
Provide technical advisement to the I.S department.
Knowledge of Healthcare environment is desirable.
Knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, VLANs, SNMP, DHCP, DNS, Proxy, Email, SAN, malware protection, AD, Print servers, WSUS, F5 load balancer, Veeam Backup, Veritas Backup, VDI VMware Horizon, Citrix, Terminal Servers, Desktop Authority, SAN (i.e.: IBM netapp, EMC Unity, XtremeIO), Realtime SAN replication (i.e.: EMC VPLEX), server hardware (i.e.: IBM, DELL, Cisco UCS, HP, etc.)
Experience with high availability and multi-site environments strongly preferred.
Advanced system designs skills, excellent verbal/written communication skills, documentation and inventory skills, organizational skills, solid analytical skills, decision-making skills.
Follow directions from management and collaborate with other staff.
