At Dollar General, the focus is on helping shoppers save time and money every day by offering a wide range of products at affordable prices in convenient neighborhood locations.

    Job Details

    The Maintenance Lead Technician will be responsible for supporting the maintenance function of Dollar General stores within a specific geographic area. The role involves responding in-person to maintenance tickets, conducting preventative maintenance assessments, and supervising Field-Based Maintenance Technicians. Daily tasks include commuting to store locations, addressing entry-level maintenance repairs, and educating store leaders on maintenance best practices.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Traveling to sites with reported maintenance concerns
    • Recruiting and retaining qualified employees
    • Providing training and conducting performance evaluations
    • Troubleshooting asset information and guiding operational solutions
    • Supporting entry-level maintenance tasks
    • Supervising the maintenance technician team
    • Completing various maintenance tasks such as plumbing repairs, door maintenance, and pest control
    • Ensuring fire safety equipment compliance
    • Documenting and resolving maintenance tickets in a timely manner
    • Performing root cause analysis and training when necessary
    • Occasional after-hours work may be required
    • Conducting preventative maintenance checks on-site

    Qualifications

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Experience with power tools
    • Effective communication skills
    • Commitment to customer service
    • Ability to prioritize tasks
    • Previous retail experience preferred

      • Work Experience and Education:

      • High School Diploma or equivalent
      • Relevant retail or maintenance experience
      • Vocational training preferred
      • Valid Driver's License
      • Willingness to travel up to 100%
      • Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Background Check
