About Mohamed Hassan:
I am a qualified Cancer Researcher with outstanding experience in the basic and translational aspects of skin cancer, particularly melanoma. My research projects deal with the mechanisms regulating tumor progression and resistance based on the functional analysis of extra- and intercellular signaling pathways associated with receptor and non- receptor tyrosine kinases both in vitro and in vivo using heterogenous tumors and cancer stem cells-based model. The main aim of my research projects is to identify novel therapeutics and their potential targets that may function as potential key molecules of aberrant signaling pathways in melanoma.
I started my research and teaching activities several years ago at different institutions including, University Hospital of Duesseldorf, Duesseldorf, Germany; INSERM Institute, University of Strasbourg, Strasbourg, France; Department of Pathology and Cancer Institute, University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, MS, and Research Laboratory of surgery-Oncology, Tulane University School of Medicine, New Orleans, LA, USA.
I have made significant contribution in the field of cancer Research with main focus cancer biology and therapy. The findings of these projects are already published in more than 49 research articles and 20 editorials and reviews. In addition, I have a network of national and international collaborations and I am interested in extending my collaboration where I am working and continuously looking for new challenges.
