    Blower and Compressor Field Service Technician / Engineer

    Lone Star Blower and Compressor (Houston, Texas USA) is a high-growth, fast-paced, and customer focused ISO 9001 global manufacturer of centrifugal blowers, compressors, and related control systems.

    Responsibilities

    This candidate is responsible for field service related to startup of complete electro-mechanical centrifugal blower and compressor systems, field repair or overhaul, preventative maintenance or other required activities in the field.

    Trips are usually in the 3–4-day range, and you are home most every weekend.

    Qualifications (Preferred but those with less experience are requested to apply)
    10+ years of field start up and repair of integrally geared centrifugal compressors or rotating equipment.
    10+ years of PLC and Control Systems trouble shooting and repair.
    Willingness and ability to teach and mentor.
    Great oral and written communication skills
    Great Customer Service Attitude
    Great Safety Record

    The following expertise:
    Interpret engineering drawings (wiring/GA/MFG)
    Exceptional understanding of mechanical rotating equipment
    Exceptional understanding of electrical components
    Interface with PLC's
    Tuning control systems
    Vibration Analysis experience

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    Continually required to stand 8-12 hours
    Frequently required to walk 8-12 hours
    Occasionally required to sit
    Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
    Continually required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
    Continually required to talk or hear
    Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard
    Frequently required to lift/push/carry items less than 25 pounds/ up to 25 pounds/ up to 50 pounds/ more than 50 pounds
    Frequently exposure to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather)
    Frequently work near moving mechanical parts
    Occasionally work in high, precarious places
    Occasionally work around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals which may require pulmonary fit test and respirator fitting
    Frequently exposure to outside weather conditions
    Frequently exposure to extreme heat or cold (non-weather)

    Frequently loud noise (examples:
    metal can manufacturing, large earth-moving equipment)

    Frequently very loud noise (example:
    jack hammer work)
