- Instructs students in the facts, skills, and appreciations pertaining to the assigned courses.
- Considers the general and special needs of the students, assists them in meeting their problems, and when necessary, seeks additional help from other college services.
- Informs students of educational and occupational opportunities.
- Observes schedule as approved by the department chairperson and appropriate administrator.
- Cooperates with the department chairperson department members,
- Recommends library books and other instructional materials.
- Assists in the organization and meetings of advisory committees where applicable.
- Consults with department chairperson on matters pertaining to departmental problems; observes proper channels of communications.
- When needed, maintains an inventory of assigned equipment and supplies.
- Submits midterm and final grade reports, deficiency notices, attendance records, and any other reports pertaining to the assigned course. Faculty will cooperate with the department Chairperson and the department members to provide artifacts of student learning outcomes for the assessment of course, program and general education outcomes. When the faculty receives the aggregate data of assessment results back, they determine if and what curricular changes are needed.
- Participates in the formation of policies and regulations and assists in enforcing the regulations. Informs department chairperson in writing of any pending problem that might have a detrimental effect on the college.
- Participates in faculty and professional organizations.
- Attends scheduled monthly departmental/program meetings when there is no conflict with a professional responsibility.
- Distributes to all students each term a course outline which covers the class requirements, grading procedure, attendance requirements, and objectives the instructor feels are appropriate.

Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing; completed the Train the Trainer Basic Nurse Aide Training Program within the last five years that include the Approved Evaluator and Alzheimer's Course.
Licensure/Certification:
RN license; CPR certification
Experience:
Minimum of two years of nursing experience; one year of experience in teaching theory in an accredited nurse assistant training program; one year of experience in providing nursing care including personal care and activities of daily living to older adults or for chronically ill adults; one year of experience in the provision of long-term care facility services or direct care
