    Description

    Position Overview: The Maintenance Mechanic Intern will work closely with our skilled maintenance team to gain practical knowledge and skills in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the mechanical systems and equipment that power our bakery production. This internship is a unique opportunity for individuals pursuing a career in maintenance mechanics to apply classroom learning in a real-world bakery setting.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Assist in Routine Maintenance: Support scheduled maintenance tasks on bakery machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and production efficiency.
    2. Troubleshooting and Repairs: Work under the guidance of experienced mechanics to identify and resolve mechanical issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous production.
    3. Equipment Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of bakery machinery to identify potential problems and recommend preventive measures to uphold our quality standards.
    4. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and parts inventory, contributing to our commitment to quality and safety.
    5. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while performing maintenance tasks, and report any unsafe conditions or practices promptly.
    6. Collaboration: Collaborate with the maintenance team and other departments to support overall operational efficiency and the production of high-quality bakery goods.
    7. Learning and Development: Actively participate in training sessions to enhance technical skills and stay updated on industry best practices related to bakery equipment.

    Qualifications:

    1. Currently enrolled in a relevant technical program or degree in maintenance mechanics, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
    2. Strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for hands-on work, with an interest in the food production industry.
    3. Basic understanding of mechanical systems and tools.
    4. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    5. Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
    6. Ability to follow safety guidelines and work in a dynamic bakery environment.
    7. Eagerness to learn and a proactive approach to tasks.

    Duration and Schedule: This is a [5]-month internship with the possibility of extension based on performance. The intern is expected to work [number of hours] per week, with flexibility to accommodate class schedules.

    Compensation: This is a paid Non-Union internship, and compensation is $22 per hour
