- Support new raw materials qualification & coding process – examine new raw materials and resolve any discrepancies, ensure raw material SPEC documents, certification, and technical data sheet.
- Act as key contact & interface with Global Innovation Center Raw Material team to ensure the quality & functionality in use of raw materials and to lead activities associated with replacing discontinued raw materials, re-qualifying specification change by suppliers, qualifying the secondary source for improvement and development from US local suppliers.
- Work closely with other functions such as formulation team, process development team, Technical Information development team, Safety team, Procurement team, SAI-QC team etc., to drive overall material efficiency and product delivery in a timely manner.
- Support other ongoing RM Matters, Special Projects & Initiatives.
- R&D Internal teams such as Analytical Group, Formulation Group Project Leaders, Process Development Group, Technical Information Group & Regulatory.
- Shiseido teams external to R&D such as QA, QC, Procurement, PD and RMs suppliers.
- Related contract research organizations (CROs).
- BS/MS in chemistry or related discipline.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
- Demonstrated competency in interpreting chemical data.

Job Summary:
The overall function of this position is to support the Innovation Center's business strategies and in the execution of the product development for the global brands; NARS & Drunk Elephant as well as other Shiseido owned brands assigned to AIC from Raw Materials Qualification point of view.
The person will be responsible for supporting Raw Materials Qualification collaborating with cross functional teams to ensure the quality & functionality in use of raw materials.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills required as well as the ability to interact with internal R&D team including the Global Innovation Center in Japan.
The person needs to have a general knowledge of chemistry, test methods for the raw Materials' SPEC, general knowledge of cosmetic material functions.
