- Serve as a strategic partner to the founder/CEO, driving the execution of strategic initiatives and ensuring alignment with company goals and values
- Help to recruit a world-class, representative team and foster an inclusive culture of experimentation, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making
- Partner with the product team to develop and manage our design partner program, and collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement early pricing strategies
- Secure meetings with potential customers, partners, and industry thought leaders to validate product-market fit, gather insights, and drive early revenue
- Support fundraising efforts by creating compelling pitch materials, financial models, and business plans, and board presentations
- 10+ years of experience, including 6+ years in product management and operations roles and 4+ years in leadership positions
- Proven track record of driving results in fast-paced, high-growth environments, with expertise in software products, operations management, strategy development, and cross-functional collaboration
- Exceptional leader and manager, recognized for ability to lead teams (directly and by influence), implement effective business processes and tools, and thrive in high-pressure environments with minimal oversight
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making and a keen focus on improving customer experience and operational efficiency
- Deep understanding of and/or ability to learn the AI landscape, including key trends, technologies, and industry dynamics
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MS in Computer Science or related field) preferred

Lanai's co-founders are Lexi Reese (former COO of Gusto and VP of Google) and Steve Herrod (former CTO of VMware). Steve incubated the concept with a talented team at Juxtapose earlier this year and Lexi is scaling the business with a talented team that shares deep technical and commercial expertise and diverse lived experiences. Lanai has received substantive funding from top-tier VC firms and will release its first product later this year.

We are seeking a talented and versatile Chief of Staff to join our seed-stage AI company. As a key member of our leadership team, you will work closely with the co-founder/CEO, providing strategic guidance, driving critical initiatives, and serving as a trusted confidante and sounding board.

Lanai is based in Palo Alto and we co-create in our office, together, most of the time (plan for at least 3 days a week in-office near Cal Avenue CalTrain station).
