    Description

    Piper Companies is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to join an INCREDIBLE new opportunity with an industry leader in preconstruction and construction management. This position is on-site in Columbia, MD. The Preconstruction Manager will be responsible for coordinating multiple projects simultaneously throughout the preconstruction phase.

    Responsibilities for the Preconstruction Manager include:

    • Manage workflow for senior estimators and estimators assigned to you
    • Develop initial budgets and maintain a thorough understanding of plans and specifications
    • Keep track of preconstruction schedules and procurement plans
    • Conduct detailed take-offs and estimates
    • Prepare accurate preliminary, schematic, design development, and construction estimates and studies
    • Monitor design development cost trends for potential overruns or issues
    Required Qualifications for the Preconstruction Manager include:
    • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business, or related field
    • At least six (6) years of estimating experience
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project), Insite, On Screen Takeoff, and Procore
    • Familiarity with CSI format and ability to interpret plans and specs.
    • Knowledgeable in the construction industry, scheduling, contract law, and negotiations.
    • Ability to work conceptually with minimal information and understand owner and architect requirements. Innovative and detail-oriented.
    Compensation for the Construction Manager include:
    • $130,000-150,000 + bonuses + profit sharing Depends on level of degree and combined years of experience
