    Description

    Job Title: Legal Assistant

    Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our legal team as a Legal Assistant. The ideal candidate will provide administrative support to our attorneys and help ensure smooth day-to-day operations within the legal department.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts, and real estate closing statements.
    2. Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and legal articles.
    3. Organize and maintain legal files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible.
    4. Prepare and file legal documents with courts and government agencies.
    5. Schedule appointments, meetings, and maintain attorney calendars.
    6. Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other involved parties to schedule meetings, gather information, and provide updates.
    7. Assist in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and preparing trial binders.
    8. Draft correspondence, emails, and other legal documents as required.
    9. Proofread legal documents to ensure accuracy and adherence to legal procedures.
    10. Assist in billing and invoicing processes.

    Requirements:

    1. Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.
    2. Previous experience working as a legal assistant or paralegal preferred.
    3. Strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures.
    4. Excellent research and writing skills.
    5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
    6. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
    7. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
    8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    10. Knowledge of electronic filing systems is a plus.
