Currently seeking a Product Engineer - Mechanical & Magnetics to be responsible for creating design specifications for a variety of complex components. The successful candidate must be able to understand customer requirements, existing designs and technical aspects related to the development of new designs that meet existing and future industry needs within established time constraints.

    • Seeking a Product Engineer - Mechanical & Magnetics to report to the Engineering Manager and provide support for all Production Department needs as a part of a cross-functional team with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Purchasing.

    The Compensation

    • $100,000 - $110,000 Annual Base Salary Range Commensurate with Experience

    The Role

    • Analyze design problems using engineering and mathematical principles.
    • Create design changes and prepare preliminary sketches for the guidance of designers.
    • Review design requirements and evaluate existing or new designs theoretically and with test data for verification of compliance.
    • Lead major tasks involving technical proposals, test plans, test reports, overseeing prototype builds, conducting tests, and attending internal and external meetings to meet all objectives.
    • Review, understand, and support customer program requirements for existing and new designs.
    • Manage tasks such as technical proposals, detailed design activities, reliability analyses, preliminary/critical design reviews, qualification test plan development, and returned material analysis.
    • Develop and implement designs that meet the design intent with analytical or physical test substantiation that establishes compliance with all Customer and Regulatory Specifications and internal requirements.
    • Adapt existing designs to new customer requirements and applications.
    • Work closely with customer representatives and work within customer and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standards and requirements.
    • Provide on-site technical support for fielded production or prototype designs.
    • Follow existing guidelines, procedures, and priorities of work for Product Engineering tasks including Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Program Management, Productivity Projects, New Technology and Departmental Projects.
    • Establish test requirements not previously specified by the customer or governmental requirements and develop and direct the testing of new product prototypes to verify product reliability and conformance to specifications.
    • Assist the Manufacturing Engineering department regarding product redesign to resolve product or production difficulties.

    The Background Profile

    • U.S. Citizenship required
    • Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering required; Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering a plus
    • 1-3 years experience in the Product Engineering field
    • Strong Mechanical or Electrical background with Magnetic experience required
    • Proficiency in SolidWorks, SolidWorks Simulation and FEATool software strongly preferred
    • Extensive experience within the General Aviation industry strongly desired
    • Comprehensive knowledge of turbine engines and reciprocating/internal combustion engines
    • Ability to work onsite in the Greenville, SC office
