    Description
    job summary:
    The EO/IR Imaging and Laser Systems Test Engineer will collaborate with systems engineers, optical engineers, and mechanical engineers to conduct comprehensive system characterization and testing for new camera sensor products. This role involves preparing hardware and laboratory setups for experiments, executing experiments, analyzing collected data, and suggesting or executing follow-up testing based on findings. Testing activities will encompass optical, imaging, control systems, laser, and environmental tests.

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in optical engineering, electrical engineering, optomechanical engineering, or laser physics.

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in EO/IR imaging and laser systems development or manufacturing.

    responsibilities:
  • Design tests and experiments under the guidance of systems engineering leadership.

  • Schedule tests considering engineering asset availability to ensure timely completion.

  • Ensure readiness of equipment and test units for experiments in laboratory and aircraft environments.

  • Participate in troubleshooting activities as necessary.

  • Analyze and deliver results promptly to the project team.

  • Generate test reports and manufacturing procedures as required.

  • Conduct Design Verification Testing (DVT) on new designs.

  • Preferred Experience:

  • Opto-mechanical systems and electronics fundamentals.

  • Understanding of visible and infrared sensing and imaging principles.

  • Proficiency in experiment design, systems integration, and troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity with data reporting and analysis software such as Excel, MATLAB, or LabView.

  • Knowledge of optical imaging system testing techniques and equipment.

  • Experience in laser systems testing, including power, divergence, and alignment.
