JOB DESCRIPTION
EO/IR imaging and laser systems test engineer position will work with systems engineers, optical engineers, and mechanical engineers to conduct system characterization and testing for new camera sensor products.
In this role, the systems test engineer will prepare hardware and laboratory for experiments, run experiments, collect and analyze data, and recommend/perform follow-up testing based on conclusions.
Systems testing will include optical, imaging, control systems, laser, and an environmental test.Roles and Responsibilities
Design tests and experiments under the direction of systems engineering leadership.
Plan tests around the availability of engineering assets to be completed in a timely manner.
Prepare equipment and test units for test readiness in the lab and on aircraft.
Participate in troubleshooting.
Analyze and Report results back to the project team on time.
Create test reports and manufacturing procedures for tests as needed.
Perform DVT testing on new designs.
An ideal candidate will have experience with:Opto-mechanical systems and fundamentals (including electronics)
Visible and infrared sensing and imaging fundamentals
Design of experiments, systems integration, and troubleshooting skills
Data reporting and analysis software such as Excel, and MATLAB, or LabView,
Optical imaging system testing, methods, and equipment: cameras, optics, alignments, video capture, and analysis.
Laser systems testing, methods, and equipment: Power, divergence, alignment.
>=2 years in the EO/IR imaging and laser systems development or manufacturing
Skills Required:
Ability to work on complex tests with limited supervision.
Ability to work and communicate with all disciplines of engineering.
High level of organization for simultaneous test activities and large data sets
Prioritization of multiple tasks and projects to ensure efficient order of testing.
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in optical engineering, electrical engineering, optomechanical engineering or laser physics
