OverviewWe are seeking a full-timeFlight Test Engineer 1 in our Salem, OR location.In this role, you will be responsible for performing basic flight testing activities including developing ground and flight test plans, coordinating and executing flight tests, and communicating issues identified during flight testing.
Essential FunctionsDrafts ground and flight test plans and reports for basic test programs derived from previous programsCoordinates and executes simple flight tests as part of a flight test crewUnderstands and maintains basic test aircraft and equipment configurationsOperates flight test tools and post processes flight test dataCommunicates issues identified during flight test to team members and managementPrepares simple avionics system installation data for test aircraftPerforms basic troubleshooting on avionics test installations using proper engineering tools and techniquesThoroughly documents work in an organized manner Basic QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Engineering OR an equivalent combination of education and experienceExcellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)Ability to travel domestic/international up to 3-6 months per yearDesired QualificationsOutstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)Previous work or internship experience with aircraft systems projects and general aviation productsPilot or aircraft maintenance certificationPrevious flight test experienceExperience with revision control tools, mobile application development, audio/video recording tools, or database toolsGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
