- 4-year college degree in Food Science, Biological science, Chemistry, or related field is strongly preferred3- 5 years' experience in Quality Assurance and laboratory experience
- Supervisor experience working in Food Manufacturing with Dairy Manufacturing preferred
- Certification in HACCP Principles and Preventive Controls for Human Food
- Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative, sense of urgency, and flexibility
- Competent in Continuous Improvement, Statistical Process Control, Lean Tools
- Knowledgeable in HACCP & PCHF Food Safety Plans, GMPs, SDS, CFR's, and other state and federal regulatory requirements
- Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently without constant supervision or monitoring
- Ability to function strategically in fast-paced production environmentKey Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsibility to provide daily leadership to the Quality Assurance Department.
- Responsibility for development, training and implementation of process control and preventive controls procedures
- Responsibility for PCQI role in Food Safety Plan and Regulatory Inspection Team within plant
- Responsibility to ensure QA Lab Staff perform Standardized inspection and testing program to assure safety and quality of products and processing environment
- Responsibility to maintain Analytical and Microbiology Lab Equipment and Calibration schedule
- Ensure that established process control procedure and all corporate issued QA Polices are followed throughout the plant.Provide training to production workers on process control, HACCP, Allergens, GMPs, Sanitation and other Food Safety and Quality requirements. Work flexible hours and participate in operational tasks outside of the quality role as needed to assess and improve food safety and quality program.
- Perform plant floor duties including quality audit inspection, record keeping, product sample collection and analysis, HACCP and FSMA updating, compliance, auditing and active participation in the 5S/Continuous Improvement program.
- Develop, implement, and roll out new quality programs (sanitary maintenance, GFSI audit gap analysis) to meet Corporate quality standards for all US Plants.Responsible for plant HACCP and FSMA reporting to include data collection, procedure development and record keeping.Deal with regulatory and plant personnel ensuring ongoing compliance with a focus on maintaining and improving relationships.Perform special projects and any other duties as assigned.
