Description

"Employees for Night Intake"
The AWO District Association Berlin-Mitte e. V.

is one of the largest providers of social work in Berlin, with currently around 450 employees in over 40 facilities.

We are currently seeking employees for the nightly intake of women* who are affected or threatened by acute domestic violence, as well as their children.

This is initially a fixed-term position until December 31, 2023, with a weekly working time of 20 hours, exclusively during the night shift from 10:30 pm to 8:00 am.

We aim to make these positions permanent.

The low-threshold "night intake" complements the accessibility and qualified counseling provided by the "BIG Hotline" during the day for women* who are affected by acute domestic violence and seeking refuge in a women's* shelter.

The women* and their children are primarily admitted to the existing AWO women's* shelter in Berlin-Mitte. The BIG e.
V. clearing center is also located in the second AWO women's* shelter in Berlin-Mitte.

For conceptual reasons, this position can only be filled by women.

Job Description:

  • Receiving calls and assessing the current (counseling) needs of the callers
  • Lowthreshold clarification of the situation through targeted questioning (current location, situation of the children, if necessary, contacting the police/ambulance in case of danger to life and limb) including current risk assessment
