Description
Job DescriptionWe are currently hiring for an EHS Manager.
In this role, our EHS Manager will be based at a local factory and will work closely with the operations departments to ensure the environmental, safety and industrial health programs are implemented and practiced consistently to promote a safe and compliant operation for the site in keeping with the Company's environmental, health and safety management systems.
Essential Responsibilities
Maintain EHS regulatory compliance responding to changes, by conducting periodic inspections and audits timely submission of reports and timely completion of action items.
Report to Unit Manager EHS deficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
Submit EHS budget requirements to Unit Manager.
Participate in site business objectives and projects ensuring consistency with regulatory compliance.
Lead investigation of EHS incidents including root cause analysis, corrective action preparation and completion.
Provide necessary training, either classroom or web based necessary for effective regulatory compliance and for environment and health/safety management systems.
Enforce compliance with corporate and site procedures and with regulatory requirements.Supervise EHS Specialist(s) and pre-treatment operators.
Monitor the annual Supplier Audit program; maintain records and archives
Management Systems:
Coordinate with local and corporate EHS teams to monitor, maintain and fully use all systems to ensure compliance
Direct EHS continuous improvement efforts and use Plan-Do-Check-Act process in all job functions.
Environmental
Prepare, submit and maintain all necessary site environmental permits and associated programs as required by federal, state, and local regulations.
Carry out emergency actions involving critical incidents in coordination with unit management which includes deploying necessary resources and making expenditures as predefined by Director of Operations.
Direct waste management and Direct site pollution reduction efforts.Safety and Health
Direct safety and health processes to prevent injuries and reduce exposure to noise and chemical toxicity.
Inspect site independently or with plant safety team, document non conformances and establish/support completion of corrective actions.
Establish site working relations with employees to promote the company's safety, health and training programs.
Schedule and direct site emergency response exercises/drills.
Direct industrial hygiene monitoring and makes changes to hearing and respiratory protection as required.
Conform with, abide by and enforce all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules and instructions.
Accomplish industrial trial EHS assessment and pre-start up safety reviews as required.
Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications
BS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or other appropriate technical degree
Min of 7 to 10 years of relevant supervisory, regulatory and management system experience in a chemical manufacturing plant.
Utilize extensive knowledge of EHS regulations (OSHA including PSM, TSCA, DHS, EPA including Air Quality, Water Quality, SARA 312/313, ICP and RMP and IEPA)
The position requires the ability to work with a personal computer in a Windows environment. Requires proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint.
