- Maintain, adjust, upgrade, service, and repair microcomputers, printers, terminals, peripheral devices, and facsimile machines; clean and adjust disk drives.
- Schedule and perform preventive maintenance on computers and ancillary equipment.
- Utilize a variety of electronic test equipment and diagnostic software to determine defects and malfunctions in RCSS computer equipment.
- Operate a variety of equipment, meters, and hand tools used in the diagnosis and repair of RCSS computer equipment.
- Requisition and maintain an adequate supply of parts and repair materials.
- Maintain the current inventory of all stock, tools, and test equipment.
- Maintain and complete records of work performed and repair history of individual pieces of equipment and completed work assignments.
- Attend work as needed and perform all duties as assigned effectively and efficiently
- Participate in after-hour, weekend, or holiday school-related tasks and events
- Drive a district vehicle to and from work sites.
- Maintain assigned vehicle in good working condition.
- Prioritize emergency calls determining safety hazards and methods and procedures for their correction.
- The employee shall carry out such other and further duties, whether specifically listed above or not, as are assigned or required by such employee's supervisor, other appropriate school personnel, law, board policy, administrative regulation, department handbook, as are reasonably necessary to the efficient operation of the school system and its mission.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Degree and/or Diploma in electronics technology with an emphasis in computer technology and microcomputer repair from an accredited technical school or college. Any combination equivalent to; two years of electronics technology coursework with an emphasis on computer technology and two years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of microcomputers, terminals, peripherals, and related equipment.
Certification or Licensure: Must possess a valid Georgia Driver's License
Skills:
This position requires knowledge of all seven core competencies of the Supporting Services Professional Growth System (SSPGS) including commitment to students, knowledge of the job, professionalism, interpersonal, communication, organization, and problem-solving.
The understanding of various microcomputer operating systems and standard software applications.Working knowledge of tools, equipment, practices, and methods of installing, cleaning, adjusting, and repairing microcomputers, terminals, peripherals, and ancillary equipment Basic electronic concepts and principles of electronic information technology practices, digital electronic logic, computer time-sharing operations and data transmissions; Basic record techniques; Appropriate safety precautions and procedures.
Work Experience: At least two years of experience in an Information Technology establishment or department. Ability to work from plans, technical manuals, reading and understanding schematics, diagrams, and specifications.
PRIMARY DUTY
This position is responsible for Performing the full range of professional duties required in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the RCSS microcomputer equipment, printers, scanners, networks, and peripheral devices.
