    Guest Services Representative

    Description Title: Guest Services Representative (GSR)

    Operations Division

    Reports To: Guest Services Supervisor

    Direct Reports: None

    Type: Part Time, Non-Exempt

    Rate: $15.24

    Purposes: To provide exceptional customer service that enhances the guest experience by welcoming guests to the Museum and providing information on exhibitions, events, membership, and programs. To support the guest experience while collecting admission fees and attendance data and selling memberships.

    Greet Museum guests in a respectful and courteous manner. Provide information and answer inquiries regarding exhibitions, events, programming, the Museum, and the surrounding area

    Use point of sale (POS) software to sell Museum admission tickets, memberships, and donations, and to process passes, reciprocal memberships, and membership cards

    Promote and sell Museum memberships and provide accurate information on membership benefits

    Provide guests with Museum policies regarding touching of artwork, photography, backpacks, and food and beverages as needed

    Verify POS monies at the start of shift. Accurately reconcile end of shift operating cash and credit card receipts, and complete necessary reports for Manager

    Process rental requests of audio tours and maintain an audio usage report

    Stock and inventory Guest Services desk collateral in stockroom, Welcome Centers, and Guest Services desks; stock Museum gallery materials in galleries

    Answer telephone inquiries and re-direct phone calls to staff as necessary

    Issue keys to Higgins Education Wing to staff members

    Perform basic troubleshooting of Welcome Center and gallery iPads

    Assist in maintaining cleanliness in Welcome Centers and rearranging gallery furniture when needed

    Perform other related duties as assigned or as circumstances warrant

    Requirements

    Experience handling cash transactions and POS system

    History of honesty and integrity

    EXPERIENCE:

    One year experience in the handling of cash transactions in a public environment preferred. A strong customer service background is necessary

    EDUCATION:

    High School graduate preferred or in lieu of formal education, equivalent position experience.
