The main responsibilities in detail:
Regulatory Compliance for the Gunvor USA LLC Power and Natural Gas Trading Desks:
Manage compliance reporting obligations with FERC, ERCOT, and ISOs. Monitor Power and Natural Gas trading desks compliance with CFTC, FERC, ERCOT and ISO market regulations. Perform transaction and business communications monitoring activities related to Gunvor's activities in the physical and derivative commodity markets. Liaise with Power and Natural Gas trading desks regarding strategies and transactions. Monitor US offices compliance with internal policies and requirements.
Liaise with global compliance team to monitor compliance with US and international commodity market regulations, including those of the CFTC, FERC, FCA, EU, and U.S.
and foreign commodity exchanges. Provide vacation backup coverage over various Compliance and legal mailboxes as required.Profile:
Undergraduate degree required from an accredited university.
Experience of 5-7 years in trading compliance in the energy industry.
Expertise derived from working in a commodity trading office environment and in dealing directly with trading, operations, and other functions.
Very detail oriented and proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially MS Word and Excel.A solid understanding of physical energy commodity and derivatives markets and products, including physical power and congestion products, physical natural gas flows and ETD and OTC products.
Strong knowledge of relevant exchange and federal rules including the CFTC CEA, FERC Rules and the Dodd Frank Act.Knowledge of or limited experience with European compliance regulations including MAR, REMIT, MiFID II and EMIR.
A proactive approach to addressing potential or exiting issues or errors.
Well organized and efficient with expertise to properly allocate time to various compliance initiatives.
Willing to travel as needed.
