    Description

    Overview:

    HOURS/LOCATION: This position requires travel between two locations, Arvada and University Hills. The role is Tuesday-Thursday 8:30am-3:30pm

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The instructor works as part of the Youth Development Team, providing instructional leadership that enables students to learn through direct guided immersive experiences, encouraging active engagement, and leveraging mentorship as a resource. The instructor works in partnership with staff to create student learning opportunities to support educational objectives, augments classroom curricula, and extends academic/social emotional growth. The LIT Instructor facilitates vocational skill and career development activities that support self-determination, employment readiness, and improved outcomes for all students as they become contributing members of our society.

    The instructor will be responsible for teaching our LIT Specialty classes including but not limited to Lesson Planning, Coaching, Presentations, and Soft Skills.

    Responsibilities:

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Implement age-appropriate lesson plans.?
    • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of participants in enrichment programs by providing close supervision of all activities.??
    • Be in an assigned area with all equipment, when needed.??
    • Create an atmosphere where all participants can have fun, are safe and learn.??
    • Keep immediate supervisor informed of any concerns or problems regarding program participants or facilities.??
    • Maintain an organized workspace, responsible for upkeep of supplies, materials, and program rooms.??
    • Regularly communicate with Manager to discuss lesson plans and activities, to ensure a good working relationship.?
    • Communicate with staff to promote an understanding of the growth and development of the participants attending the program.??
    • Actively participate in all training sessions, designated meetings, and special events.

    • The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and will frequently use arms and hands to reach, feel, and handle objects.

    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, and the ability to adjust.
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
    Qualifications:

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be 21+ years of age.
    • High school diploma or GED required, Background in Parks and Recreation, Education, Camp Management, or related field preferred.
    • Experience teaching classes/programs
    • Outgoing, energetic, and engaging?
    • Child Abuse prevention training within 15 days of hire
