About Angelica Marley:
I am currently a first-generation college student at Metropolitan State University of Denver. My major is in Public Health, but beyond this, I have a special calling to be of service to others. I have been able to practice this through different facets of dining, food service, team coaching and leadership roles. I am looking for a fast-paced environment where I can join a team that shines under pressure and takes pride in their products and services. I love to create experiences for others and hope to do so in my future role.
Experience
I have been a part of the customer service industry circa 2009. My experience pertains to, but is not limited by, management positions, store operations, program and policy development, training facilitation, dietetic technology, retail expertise, harvesting produce, plant knowledge, and store front operations. My titles have fell under Dietary Technician and Dining Aid, Assistant Farm Manager, and Store Manager.
I have been a student at Metropolitan State University of Denver since June of 2020. My major is in Public Health and my double minor is in Nutrition and Integrative Health Care. From a developing interest and value in preventative care and community outreach, I am wanting to join a team where I can provide my skill set of customer service, problem solving, and community building.
I have a unique background in food systems and work-study employment. In my career, I have attended dozens of classes in relation to customer service, Justice Equity Diversity and Inclusion workshops, retail expertise, food service, and food systems. With my diverse background in community engagement and team leading, I look forward to building upon my current skillsets and connecting with others within the fields of wellness and public policy.

“The Honors Program is designed to develop in our students the ability to apply critical and creative thinking as well as conduct high-quality research and creative work. Honors students learn to integrate a variety of disciplines in their approach to a given project, demonstrate civic and intercultural knowledge and engagement, and reflect critically upon their values and the learning process. This is an innovative program that allows students to achieve the Honors Program credential by completing an individually tailored combination of both academic courses and co-curricular honors options.”
Working Thesis: Modern public health practices in food access require a bottom-up analysis of superficial done by welfare organizations. This will be done through highlighting the correlations of case study, Rowdy’s Corner and larger themes of government, capitalism, colonization, and food systems in the Americas.
Whole Health Board Committee | Student Leader
The Whole Health Division is comprised of several degree programs, including Lifestyle Medicine, Integrative Health, Men’s Health, and Public Health. As a new department division, we have envisioned a committee that embraces and promotes the mission and activities of the Whole Health Division, furthering health equity in Colorado and educating the next generation of health professionals. |
