    • About This Opportunity


    Responsibilities:

    Job Summary:
    This position is responsible for the accounting of inventory and cost of goods sold.

    The primary responsibilities of the role include month-end close and related deliverables to ensure completeness and accuracy of inventory transactions.

    In addition, this position will collaborate with a global accounting team to ensure consistency with accounting processes and drive process improvements.

    Key Duties and

    Responsibilities:
    Responsible for ensuring the completeness and accuracy of financial information pertaining to merchandise payables, inventory, and gross profit
    Provide analytical value and perspective on inventory, merchandise payables, and gross profit lines
    Implement process improvements to increase effectiveness and efficiencies of inventory and merchandise payables processing and reporting processes
    Partner with other departments to direct current teams to resolve technical or operational issues causing inaccurate inventory or payable reporting
    Ensure that accounting principles are adhered to when implementing new systems and processes
    Ensure proper research and resolution on complex transactions to reconcile discrepancies or inconsistencies
    Establish, monitor, and maintain effective internal controls
    Support internal and external audit requirements
    Ensure month-end close activities and account reconciliations are performed timely and accurately
    Provide direction, coaching, support, and opportunities for team to develop relevant skills
    Ad-hoc duties as needed


    Qualifications:

    Education and Experience:

    Education:
    Bachelors/4-year degree
    Years of Relevant Work Experience:

    10+ years of accounting experience

    Years of Management Experience:

    5+ years

    Certifications/Licenses:
    CPA required

    Specific Knowledge and Skills:
    Strong organizational skills
    Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to drive results
    Effective written and oral communication skills
    Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to anticipate, identify, and resolve inventory issues
    Thorough working knowledge of accounting principles and GAAP requirements
    Strong systems aptitude and solid Microsoft Excel skills
    Retail Accounting experience is desired but not required
