The German Railway is one of the most diverse employers in Germany. Every year, we are looking for over 5,000 apprentices in 50 professions who want to become even better with us.

We are looking for you for the 3-year apprenticeship as a track builder / civil engineering specialist (m/f/d) with a specialization in operating earthmoving equipment for DB Bahnbau Gruppe GmbH at the Hannover location. The vocational school is located in Magdeburg and the training workshop in Königsborn.
What to expect in your apprenticeship:
  • You will be working on construction sites, on railway substructures or superstructures, and ensuring a safe and stable rail network
  • Replacing damaged tracks and switches, as well as renewing the track bed, are among your tasks
  • You will learn how to use surveying equipment to expertly check things like track curves and track gauges
  • Working with state-of-the-art machines and various building materials
  • You will become familiar with operating the two-way excavator on the practice track and obtain a license for operating earthmoving equipment
After completing your apprenticeship, you will undergo training to become a train driver with the goal of becoming a two-way excavator operator.
