We are currently seeking a new addition (m/f/d) to our HR team for the personnel department of our research fleet at our location in Gurnee, IL.

The F. Laeisz Group was founded in 1824.

As a family-owned shipping company, we are one of the leading German companies in the maritime industry with 500 crew members at sea and approximately 80 employees on land.

For over 25 years, our subsidiary in Bremerhaven with 15 employees has been closely connected to polar and marine research.

From here, we manage the research vessel "Polarstern" and the "Neumayer Station III", as well as the smaller research vessels "Uthörn", "Mya II", "Ludwig Prandtl", "Aade", and the research yacht "Eugen Seibold".

In addition, several projects are managed from Bremerhaven.


Responsibilities:

  • Staffing of research vessels with qualified seafaring personnel
  • Personnel selection and planning in coordination with other departments
  • Point of contact for ship management in all personnel matters
  • Control and assistance with all necessary personnel documents for seafarers
  • Organization of arrival and departure of crew members to/from the ship
  • Personnel budget and cost control (invoice verification) for responsible vessels
  • Support for monthly payroll of seafarers

Qualifications:

  • Completed commercial training
  • Professional experience in HR
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
