Your responsibilities will include:

  • Independently assuming the responsibility for intellectual property rights in a business or technical area
  • Advising the development management on development strategy (identifying intellectual property rights and limitations) and providing guidance to developers on all intellectual property and inventorship matters
  • Preparing, submitting, and enforcing patent applications, including handling necessary official procedures or preparing these procedures with appointed correspondence attorneys
  • Examining development results for potential patentable ideas and the risk of infringing on thirdparty intellectual property rights; deriving measures and decision proposals and implementing them; and, if necessary, conducting or arranging thematic patent searches and evaluating the results
  • Handling patentrelated aspects of development, cooperation, and licensing agreements
  • Conducting opposition proceedings against disruptive thirdparty intellectual property rights and advising development departments on how to avoid such rights, including defending against attacks on Brose's intellectual property rights

Your profile should include:

  • Technical degree, or alternatively, specialized training and several years of professional experience in the relevant field
  • Preferably qualified as an authorized representative before the European Patent Office and/or as a patent assessor (m/f/d)
  • Several years of professional experience in patent law (e.g. in an industrial patent department or a patent law firm)
