    Job Description:
    At AGM University, we are growing.

    We are currently seeking a Financial Aid Officer that will deliver an excellent student experience while staying within compliance of federal rules and regulations.

    The ideal candidate for this role will be detail oriented with strong follow-up skills, self-motivated to meet deadlines and possess patience and tact while working effectively with a broad student population.

    AGM University serves a diverse student population, offering bilingual education to the community for traditional and non-traditional students.


    Essential Functions:
    Assist prospective students through the process of filling out the FAFSA both in person and virtually.


    Determine the student's financial aid funding eligibility and counsel students and families on options available via federal financial aid and scholarships.

    Complete verification on student files as needed in a timely manner.

    Assess NSLDS and COD for any previous federal loan history for every student.


    Assess unusual circumstances by reviewing and analyzing incomplete or conflicting data to properly communicate information to students and families related to financial aid.

    Agile with the ability to pivot between working with students, back-office work, and projects within a fast-paced environment.

    Follow up with students to finalize incomplete files while meeting completion deadlines.

    Assist students with completing Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note.

    Communicate with active students via phone or email for FAFSA renewal throughout the academic year.

    Assist active students in completing the FAFSA renewal process.

    Provide financial aid support to students and leadership during new student orientation.

    Collaborate with Student Affairs and Admissions using effective communication.

    Maintain student confidentiality in accordance with FERPA regulations.

    Perform other duties as required.


    Requirements:
    Ability to work evening shifts and weekend availability required; this position is on-site.

    Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution required.

    Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within higher education preferred.

    Bilingual in English and Spanish (fluent) with the ability to communicate complex information simply, both verbally and written required.
