- Knowledge of network architecture, operations and protocols.
- Knowledge of secure network/systems configuration management, as well as an understanding of networking concepts and devices.
- Ability to work 24/7 including holidays and weekends. Knowledge of application development methodologies and regulatory regulations.
- Knowledge of incident handling and response. Knowledge of active directory environments as well as virtual and mobile technologies.
- Knowledge of Information Security functions and complex enterprise architecture security lockdowns.
- Skill in time management as it relates to incidents.
- Ability to work independently and simultaneously to manage multiple complex projects at different phases.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to document requirements, designs, communication plans, project plans, project status reports and other relevant project-related issues.

- This position requires moderate to extensive travel to work assignments throughout Cook County.

Job Summary
Under the direction of the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) or designee, serves as a technical expert to assist in the administration of Information Technology (IT) security and privacy services across the County's network. Monitors and utilizes information security technologies for the identification of suspicious and malicious activities and inadequate security practices. Analyzes and monitors security violations, alerts and malware detection reports. Audits and enforces security and privacy policies and collaborates with technology partners, support representatives and IT management to coordinate and remediate security vulnerabilities. Performs other duties as assigned.
**This is a grant funded position.**

Minimum Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS
Sedentary Work
Sedentary Work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
