If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you Join our dedicated team as a Security Specialist II (SS-II) in Youth Residential Services at Heartland Human Care Services, a leading organization committed to making a positive impact in our communities.

As a Security Specialist II in our Youth Residential Services, you will play a crucial role in fostering a secure environment for program participants, contributing to their safety and overall well-being.

Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Provide security to ensure the safety of participants and staff during work shifts.
  • Conduct regular Interior and Exterior Security Perimeter Checks, including thorough vehicle inspections.
  • Stays current with training programs, ensuring proficiency in areas such as Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and CPR/First Aid.
  • Assists in updating Emergency Plans and actively participates in Emergency Drills.
  • Completes Daily Staff Communications, showcasing your contributions during each workday.
  • Carries a charged walkietalkie at all times, staying connected to the team.
  • Actively contributes to the safety and security of the YRS Site during protests.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in security or a related field.
  • A valid driver's license is encouraged but not required.
  • Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Responsibility (IDFPR).

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (K/S/A):


  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong networking and relationshipbuilding skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Problemsolving skills in situations with limited standardization.
