If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you Join our dedicated team as a Security Specialist II (SS-II) in Youth Residential Services at Heartland Human Care Services, a leading organization committed to making a positive impact in our communities.

As a Security Specialist II in our Youth Residential Services, you will play a crucial role in fostering a secure environment for program participants, contributing to their safety and overall well-being.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide security to ensure the safety of participants and staff during work shifts.
Conduct regular Interior and Exterior Security Perimeter Checks, including thorough vehicle inspections.
Stays current with training programs, ensuring proficiency in areas such as Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and CPR/First Aid.
Assists in updating Emergency Plans and actively participates in Emergency Drills.
Completes Daily Staff Communications, showcasing your contributions during each workday.
Carries a charged walkietalkie at all times, staying connected to the team.
Actively contributes to the safety and security of the YRS Site during protests.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in security or a related field.
A valid driver's license is encouraged but not required.
Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Responsibility (IDFPR).

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (K/S/A):

Excellent communication skills.
Strong networking and relationshipbuilding skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
Problemsolving skills in situations with limited standardization.
