    Description

    A financial services firm in New York City is currently seeking an experienced Accountant for a promising Senior-level position with their growing Financial Reporting team.

    Responsibilities:

    The Senior Accountant will be responsible for:

    • Maintaining the U.S. firm's books and records
    • Reviewing the monthly and annual financial statements, with a focus on the regulated broker dealers
    • Reviewing various accounting reconciliations and financial schedules that support the financial statements
    • Collaborating with Outside Auditors and Advisors on accounting policy decisions, U.S. GAAP interpretations, and internal control documentation and decisions
    • Working closely with other team members, including our accounting-specific technology team, to improve processes and ensure the group's goals are met
    • Performing other duties, as needed
    Qualifications:
    • 9+ years of relevant Accounting experience in the Broker Dealer industry
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
    • In-depth knowledge of broker-dealer regulatory filings, required
    • In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP
    • Comprehensive understanding of Financial Statements and Legal Entity Reporting
    • Able to research and interpret relevant/complex accounting literature
    • Experience in the preparation of Technical Accounting papers
    • Microsoft Excel proficient
    • Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills
    • Great interpersonal skills
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Highly organized
