    BennuBio, Inc. is an emerging technology company located in Albuquerque, NM. We specialize in delivering unique cell analysis systems that accommodate large multi-cellular spheroids and other large 3D model systems. Our VelocytTM technology enables near-total analyzed sample recovery for further re-analysis and dynamic cellular kinetic studies.

    Role Description

    This is a full-time on-site role for an Associate Mechanical Engineer at BennuBio, Inc. The Associate Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for machine design, computer-aided design (CAD), project management, and research and development (R&D) activities. They will work closely with the engineering team to design and develop innovative solutions for cell analysis systems, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the technology.

    Qualifications

    • Mechanical Engineering and Machine Design skills
    • Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software; preferably SolidWorks.
    • Strong background in Research and Development (R&D)
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Ability to work effectively in a team
    • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and efficiency.
    • Knowledge of cell analysis systems is a plus
    • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

    Responsibilities:

    • Design and develop mechanical components and systems for flow cytometry instruments, including instrument assembly, modifications, and upgrades.
    • Work to engineering instructions, specifications, and quality standards to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.
    • Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) to create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings for parts and assemblies.
    • Perform engineering analysis and simulations to validate designs and optimize performance.
    • Prototype, test, and iterate designs to meet project requirements and performance specifications.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and software engineers, to integrate mechanical systems into complete instruments.
    • Assist in the assembly and testing of flow cytometry instruments, ensuring they meet quality standards and performance metrics.
    • Conduct mechanical modifications and improvements to existing instrument designs based on feedback from internal teams or customers.
    • Support quality assurance processes, including inspections, testing, and documentation.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during instrument assembly and testing.
