    SUPERVISOR:

    Business Operations ManagerDESCRIPTION Support the design and manufacture of additive manufacturing systems that utilize Optomec's DED and Aerosol Jet deposition technologies.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES Understand MRD requirements and how to realize them in a high performance, cost effective, and timely product design.

    Plan, produce, and put together new or changed mechanical parts for products.
    Review work instructions for product to ensure accurate test specifications, procedures, and objectives.
    Prepare layouts and drawings of parts to be made and the process for putting them together.
    Discuss changes with peers in the design of a part, process and techniques.
    Editing of test documents, maintenance of bill of materials and part tolerances.
    Design, development, testing and documentation of mechanical devices.

    Conduct final tests of complete units and of parts as they would really be used as a way to investigate proposals for improving equipment performance.

    Record test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or test methods.
    Work with the project development team.
    Other duties as assigned.

    RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB Education :

    • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc. (ABET)
    • 0-5 years related experience, recent grad, or soon to be grad.
    Preferred Experience

    • Engineering support of manufacturing
    • Project Management
    • Work in Additive Manufacturing Industry a plusKEY COMPETENCIES CAD software, preferably SolidWorksAbility to work well as a cross-functional team memberHand-on lab and troubleshootingCommunications; written & presentationDetail OrientedKnowledge of basic manufacturing processesTechnical writing and/or comprehension.
    Solid understanding of mechanical engineering discipline.
    WORKING CONDITIONS Will work in an office setting.
    Will assist in lab or manufacturing floor as required.
