- Conduct independent and collaborative research projects in the field of life sciences, with a focus on translational science [e.g. HIV/AIDS, cancer biology, immunology, neurobiology, cardiovascular disease, etc.].
- Design and execute experiments, analyze data, and interpret results to contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present results at national and international scientific conferences.
- Contribute to grant writing and manuscript preparation under the guidance of faculty mentors.
- Mentor and train graduate students, research assistants, and undergraduate students involved in research projects.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, manage laboratory inventory, and ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- PhD or MD/PhD in Life Sciences, Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field.
- Strong background in experimental design and data analysis.
- Demonstrated record of scientific productivity, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative research environment.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced research setting.
- Commitment to academic and research excellence, with a passion for advancing scientific knowledge and improving human health.
- Prior research experience is preferred, but not required.
- Experience with advanced/cutting-edge techniques relevant to field of study
- Knowledge of grant writing and experience in securing research funding.
