Job Summary:
This position is for a post doctoral research fellow to join our precision-based medicine research group.
The post-doctoral fellow will work independently in a multi-disciplinary environment on murine and patient-derived samples to study the pathogenesis of gastrointestinal diseases including cancer and inflammatory conditions.
The selected candidate has experience working with animal models of disease, cell culture and cell treatments as well as with assays including protein and RNA-based techniques.
The candidate is expected to be able to draft results of the studies being generated on circadian and microbiota experiments.

Independently plans, performs, and optimizes experiments including cell culture (e.g., immune cells, organoids), co-culture experiments, and in vivo studies and analysis of cells (DNA extraction, qPCR, protein, staining).
Responsible for animal handling and for working with animal tissues Coordinate research activities with Clinical Research Staff and working with and handling human tissues Performs other job related assignments as assigned May also be required to supervise research employees and/or nonexempt staff.
Maintains a safe laboratory environment and ensures compliance with governmental and University policies, procedures, rules and regulations Required JobQualifications:
A mature and motivated individual who is well trained in areas of molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemistry Education: PhD or MD, equivalent experience Earned PhD or MD in sciences or equivalent.
Expertise in molecular biology (PCR, cloning, plasmid purification, RT-PCR), immunoprecipitation/Western blots and extraction of DNA, RNA and protein from patient tissue samples.
Expertise in working with relevant experimental models of disease. Enthusiastic, self-motivated, efficient and interact well with others as part of a team. Ability to work independently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to organize and perform laboratory work on several concurrent research projects.Preferred Job
Qualifications:
Strong communication, data analysis, computer and organizational skills. Expertise with confocal imaging techniques and with high-content screening platforms.
