    **Reports to:** Executive Chef / Chef de Cuisine

    **Status:** Exempt

    **YOUR ROLE**

    As a Sous Chef, we count on you to execute the Executive Chefs vision all while bringing your energy and enthusiasm to work each and every day. We are a team but understand that there is a hierarchy in the kitchen. We are humble and strive to put out the best dish each and every time. Youll help lead a brand new kitchen (thank you COVID) and a renewed focus and menu for our Kitchen and Bar concept.

    You mix equal parts enthusiasm, attention to detail, and knowledge of our extensive food and beverage options. Educate and inform, train, and engage. Season with a great attitude that makes work fun. We strive for loyalty beyond reason

    You know the business. You have one plus years of recent Sous Chef experience.

    You are a team player. Youre not afraid to roll up your sleeves and jump in to help your team.

    **SHOW OFF**

    **Essential Functions**

    Assist with the day to day managing of the kitchen staff

    Execute on Chefs vision and menu

    Continually train the cooks on new products and recipes

    Continually develop yourself with regards of skills and knowledge

    Work with Chef to develop new process improvements

    Follow SafeServe practices to ensure safe and responsible serving of food

    Maintain the kitchen work area in an orderly and clean condition

    Assist the Executive Chef with scheduling of kitchen staff

    Maintain a sense of ownership for the hotel/restaurant

    **Hotel Performance**

    Ensure successful performance assisting guests with an exceptional experience to ensure high performing scores on the GSS according to Marriott

    **Qualification Standards**

    **Education & Experience**

    High school diploma or equivalent or higher

    Minimum of 2 years experience in a restaurant

    Excellent customer service skills

    Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

    **Physical Demands**

    Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time

    Ability to communicate clearly

    Corrected vision to normal range

    Ability to use knives and kitchen machinery safely and effectively

    Ability to lift 20 lbs.

    Ability to work long hours as needed

    **Mental Demands**

    Make sound judgments quickly

    Ability to work with others in a high demand kitchen

    Work on multiple tasks, making appropriate progress towards deadlines

    Able to work independently, take direction, and provide direction to others

    Manage differing personalities within the kitchen, the hotel, and the community

    Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality

    Ability to work effectively in stressful, high-pressure situations

    Ability to effectively handle challenges in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
