    Description

    Puff 'n Stuff Catering is seeking a talented Sous Chef to collaborate on crafting innovative menus and recipes, overseeing kitchen operations and staff, and ensuring top-notch client satisfaction and profitability.

    As a hands-on manager in a bustling Catering Commissary, the Sous Chef plays a key role in delivering flawless culinary experiences from start to finish, while demonstrating exceptional leadership, teamwork, creativity, and dedication in partnership with the Executive Chef.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Effectively communicate with the Culinary Team to provide clear guidance, set expectations, offer feedback on performance, and provide necessary coaching
    • Train and supervise the Culinary Team both on-site and in-house to maintain consistent high-quality food production, introduce new training methods for skill enhancement, and identify future growth opportunities
    • Ensure adherence to culinary standards, recipes, and production processes, guaranteeing top-notch food quality both on-site and in-house
    • Travel to regional events to offer training, support, and quality assurance for culinary teams
    • Assist in leading the culinary team during Disaster Relief projects when required
    • Stay updated on culinary and seasonal trends, service styles, and presentation techniques by actively seeking new knowledge

    Required Skills and Background:

    • A degree in Culinary Arts or a related certification, or equivalent experience
    • Minimum 2-4 years of culinary management experience, preferably in a fast-paced, multi-outlet resort, restaurant, or food service setting with a proven track record of career advancement
    • Demonstrated success in managing budgets, labor, team performance, health regulations, and inspections
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and interpersonal aptitude
    • Passion for the hospitality industry and culinary creativity
    • Proficiency in standard technology, such as computers, tablets, smartphones, and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
    • Willingness to travel locally, work evenings, weekends, and some holidays
    • Thorough understanding of food sanitation regulations at the federal, state, and local levels
