- Lead and execute business development strategies to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and research/non-profit sectors.
- Expand client portfolio both domestically and internationally
- Work closely with Chief Business Development Officer to strategically meet and exceed sales targets
- Assist in training and development of junior Business Development team members
- Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders to drive long-term partnerships.
- Provide strategic input and innovative solutions to enhance our service offerings and differentiate them in the market.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized solutions that meet client needs and exceed expectations.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to inform business strategies.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and contract negotiations to win new business.
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline, business administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in business development within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with a focus on contract research services.
- Previous experience in selling bioanalysis and toxicology services is highly preferred.
- Proven track record of success in driving revenue growth and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong understanding of bioanalytical and toxicology services, with experience in small molecule, biologics, and cell and gene therapy.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Strong preference for candidate to be located on West Coast.
